Lovely house and Hilary and Paul are lovely hosts. Lots of choice for breakfast and the little touches of biscuits and cake in our rooms was lovely . Rooms were spacious and spotless and had all the amenities that we needed. Will definitely recommend to others and hopefully return for another visit .

We enjoyed a lovely weekend at this delightful B&B. It is ideally situated for sightseeing in York, with the Designer Outlet just up the road and the city centre just a couple of miles further on. An excellent bus service stops virtually outside, so you don't really need your car. Our room was extremely comfortable and spacious and included a walk in wardrobe and large bathroom, all of which were immaculate. Hilary and Paul are great hosts. We were welcomed with tea and delicious homemade scones and jam, which were most welcome after a long journey. There is plenty to choose from at breakfast, which was also delicious. We highly recommend and will definitely return.

We had a lovely stay at the Westergate Bed & Breakfast. Our room was beautifully decorated with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Located just a short drive to the park and ride for York centre. Hilary and Paul were the perfect hosts with excellent local knowledge. I would recommend Westergate house to anyone wanting to stay in a stunning en-suite bedroom with beautiful surrounding gardens. The staff are very warm and welcoming, the whole property is cleaned and decorated to the highest standard, the breakfast is truly the best I’ve had in the U.K. a large group of us stayed for two nights and we were treated with such wonderful hospitality throughout. Highly recommended!

Just spent a couple of days at Westergate House. Was greeted with lovely homemade scones and tea, and homemade biscuits and cake were left in our room both days. Paul and Hilary are great hosts, very informative of the local area. Breakfast choice was extensive and very nice, all freshly cooked. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great base to explore York and surrounding areas, with good bus links into center. Would definitely return and highly recommend this guest house to anyone thinking of visiting. Top tier B&B experience! Hilary and Paul are absolutely lovely hosts, whom I can't thank enough for our stay! Through late guests, surprise guests, a group with diverse dietary requirements and a fairly major mishap, they made our stay a comfortable one. They provide an excellent breakfast; with a lovely selection of cereals, pastries, toast, fruit salad, yoghurt and fruit compote, alongside a Full English or other options you can text to order the night before. My ideal hotel breakfast is "several breakfasts at once", so this was perfect for me :) The rooms are spotlessly clean, with a mini-fridge, tea & coffee tray, and the choice of a riser or waterfall shower, and the garden areas are immaculate - we sat out to catch the last of the sun and have a little picnic so we could enjoy them. There's also a lounge area with comfy sofas, so if you're travelling in a group you'll have somewhere to meet up in the evenings. Can't recommend Westergate enough, and thanks again to Hilary and Paul :)

A bunch of us booked for a nearby wedding and I was absolutely blown away by this beautiful BnB and the wonderful hosts. A 10min drive from York train station, the most gorgeous gardens, comfy rooms with great facilities. The owners Paul and Hilary were so lovely to talk to, very kind and went out of their way to look after us. The breakfasts were delicious with a wide selection of items to choose from and Paul and Hilary were happy to accommodate my weird food requests (I'm a fussy eater) with smiles and no judgement! I can say without a doubt that if you're in the area and choose anywhere else to stay you'd be missing out.

This was our second visit to Westergate House, once again we were treated to first class hospitality by Paul and Hilary who always take the time and effort to ensure that your stay is extremely enjoyable and comfortable. The breakfast again was superb with a selection to suit all. Upon arrival for our 2 night stay we were greeted by Hilary who had made some delightful home baked mince pies, cake and scone along with either tea or coffee. We stayed in a front first floor standard double bedroom which was very clean and had a comfortable bed. The location of the premises is ideally located for the park and ride into York and also the trip to the Designer Outlet which is only about 3 to 4 miles away and is a must visit for anyone who enjoys shopping and likes to pick up a few discounted bargains.
